De Santillana began a new chapter in her color research and exploration in 2016 alongside collaborators in the Czech Republic. The glass is blown and cut into a cylinder that gradually folds over itself, marking a shift in the distinct slumping methods from her previous oeuvre, particularly those made in Murano. Her expansive knowledge and expertise in color allowed for opportunities, like the distortion of pink, made possible only by the synthesized uranium available nowhere else in the world.
