Yuki Hayama is well versed in the long history of perfume bottles and their decorative elements; some of the oldest pieces discovered in Greece date back to c. 1850 BC. The origin of the form related closed to religious and medical applications, which often deployed scent as one piece of the bodily humors or customs. Hayama's composition of innumerable animals and flowering plants is painted in layers of indigo and gold atop the white porcelain. Fired again and again, the 'All of Creation' is based on the archetypical design of Java chintz. Hayama's aim is to express the unitary source of the universe which gathers together age-old mystical patterns interpreted from decorative traditions of diverse cultures.
