In Kota Arinaga’s genius yet playful hands, ink-black threads form a tight criss-crossing pattern with geometric precision that is characteristic of Venetian reticello technique. When looking into this work, the quality of light resembles the view of the pale silver moon lurking beneath a sky brimming with black clouds.
