Todo (b. 1969) tells a story of history through sculpture, combining objects such as Tokyo rubble, found rocks, and classic books with laminated glass. Trained in Tokyo and Germany, his distinctly contemporary sculptures parse the passage of time and how structures like mountains—and cities—take shape and then fall to pieces. Glass suspends his creations in the moment, like a frozen memory.
