Shin Fujihira’s Incense Burner is in the shape of a lidded jar rather than a traditional small, box type of incense burner. The rounded shape of this form is pleasant and the addition of small feet elevates the shape, adding a rather sweet character. The small characters attached as a knob on top of the form, from afar, looks ordinary and structurally even while as one approaches the work, the piece has a friendly air to it, as if the two characters are greeting you. The character to the left, extending his hand out to introduce you to the world of Shin Fujihira.
