Impossibly minuscule, laser-cut shells of Japan's iridescent sea creatures adorn this lacquered raden treasure box like frozen jewels. The meticulously laid arabic numerals illuminate the varnished cypress wood. As if a glacier set adrift on the ocean's tides, Ikeda's handiwork is a wondrous sight to behold.
